Rolf Benz AMO wins the coveted red dot design award 2010
Nagold, 6 April 2010 – one of the exclusive winners of the red dot design award has been announced: the international jury of experts made the award in March 2010, for the elegantly luxurious Rolf Benz AMO sofa range, in the product design category. With this acclaimed award, the traditional Nagold firm has once again proven that a sofa can be more than "just" a comfortable piece of furniture to sit on.
The Rolf Benz AMO range of sofas and add-on units with a modular design, created by German designer Norbert Beck, was first revealed to trade experts and the general public on the occasion of the Rolf Benz in-house exhibition in October 2009. And since then, it has been inspiring people all over the world. Why? because – like all Rolf Benz products –Rolf Benz AMO is above all one thing: pure feeling.
The one aspect is its sensual appearance, with its softly voluminous, incredibly comfortable seat and back cushions. Its shape and lines are based uncompromisingly on a longing for beauty and a slower pace of life. The other aspect is that underneath its high-quality covers of fabric or leather, an innovative pocket spring core has been used. This allows individual seat adjustment while ensuring a pleasantly soft sitting experience at all times.
In short: the Rolf Benz AMO is a place that immediately provides intimacy, beauty and relaxation.
The Design Centre in North Rhine Westphalia began awarding its red dot for outstanding designer products in 1955. Since then, the red dot has developed to become one of the best known and prestigious awards of its kind world-wide. The decisive criteria for assessment are the degree of innovation, functionality and quality of each product in question.
For more than 45 years, the Rolf Benz brand has been writing history with its story of international success, and last year was granted the best brands Award 2009 as the best furniture brand. The company has always stood for excellent design and perfect comfort but also for top quality "Made in Germany". The exclusive upholstered furniture is still manufactured entirely in the company's own factory in Mötzingen, which is right next to Nagold.
